Jessica was born in Chicago, Illinois, and has lived in Florida, Vermont, and New York. She has always had a passion for the outdoors and what it has to offer.
She has a background in environmental science and has worked on several farms, including a mushroom growing farm in Vermont. She decided to move to Asheville to expand her knowledge of herbalism by attending Blue Ridge School and Appalachia School of Holistic Herbalism. She was captivated by the mountains, waterfalls, and the endless amount of outdoor opportunities that the Asheville area has to offer. Her previous job before HNG was managing a small farm in Sandy Mush called Randle Glen. She found an open position in the accounting team at Hickory Nut Gap Farm, and discovered that it was everything she was looking for in a job.
Her favorite part about working at HNG is being apart of and supporting what the Agers are doing in the local farming industry and the impact it has on the region. In her free time she enjoys practicing herbalism, reading, hiking, and camping with her husband Justin.
