Becky is a wealth of knowledge on everything food related.
Becky Shipkosky grew up in Cleveland, Ohio with an adventurous spirit and a love of exploring new environments. Her college days took her down to the University of Texas where she graduated with a Bachelors in Anthropology. Following college, she spent 6 months living in Mexico and absorbing the culture. After her time across the border, she moved to Asheville for a publishing job and has remained here since. For 15 years, Becky worked in publishing as a non-fiction writer and editor before joining Hickory Nut Gap Farm in the summer of 2014. She has always had a healthy obsession with food and loves the ability to spread the message of healthy, sustainable meats. With a strong passion in gardening, herbal medicine, and food access, Becky spends her free time delving deeper into the food industry in order to share her knowledge with customers she meets at the Farm Store. Currently, she lives in Leicester with her partner John and two muppet dogs, Graci and Bodhi. 2019 will be a big year for Becky, she is expecting her first child in September!
