Amy McDowell grew up in Charleston, SC but quickly transitioned to life in Asheville where she went to Warren Wilson College. After receiving her degree in English, she took a job as a specialty buyer for Greenlife grocery before setting out on her own as the owner of a local flower business. Once she and her husband decided to start their family, Amy chose to stay home with her children and enjoy motherhood.  Seven years ago, Amy’s close friends, Amy and Jamie Ager, asked her to help out at their little farm store during a particularly busy fall; she’s been an integral part of the business ever since. She has an unending passion for sharing the farm’s history during school field trips and visitor tours and remembers a time when she worked Sundays by herself in a tiny one room store with a wood burning stove. In her spare time, she loves to read, garden, and obsess about everything historical. We are blessed to have such a kind, compassionate steward of the HNG brand who passionately shares our story to the community.
