Adam Gaitonde was born in New Jersey. He was raised in Belgium and England in his younger years, moving back to New Jersey later on.
He has been in the Asheville area for 14 years, working as a butcher and honing his craft with Greenlife Grocery. It was there that he met our Head Butcher Brian Bermingham- the partnership started early!
Adam followed his compatriot Brian when he came to work at Hickory Nut Gap- he is passionate about our product, sustainably raised meat and quality foods, and has been since HNG got its first big grocery account with Greenlife- a big turning point for the farm.
His favorite part about his job is educating his customers on the many unseen cuts and how to cook them, making an intimidating topic more accessible for people.
Adam enjoys carpentry, cooking super hot curries, hiking and mountain biking in the beauty of the WNC mountains and spending quality time with his beautiful daughter Kylan!
